What a thrilling match it was! I am proud to announce that we have won the Championship Title!
It was a team effort, and our captain Rafeeq bhai led us brilliantly, but a huge shoutout to Fardin who played a phenomenal innings and scored a quick half-century of 53 runs off 38 balls in the final to secure our victory.
Here’s a summary of today’s match:
We won the toss and decided to bat first. Fardin played an excellent innings and had a good opening partnership of 76 runs in 62 balls with Aboo, who scored 23 off 31 balls. After losing a couple of wickets, Nauman and Samad bhai played a sensible partnership to rebuild the innings with 39 runs in 24 balls. We managed to set a decent total of 147/9 in 20 overs.
In response, the opposition got off to a good start with a partnership of 38 runs in 35 balls. Our opening bowlers Yasser bhai and Faheem managed to restrict the powerplay runs with an excellent opening spell. However, Samad bhai showed great determination to take the first wicket. He bowled an excellent over to get rid of opener Ramu, who got out by a super catch by Waseem. Then I took the opposition captain Afsal Rahman by bowled him out. Our bowlers Wasim and Nauman took Abhin and Shibin in consecutive overs. Thanks to Nauman for his exceptional bowling to restrict the flow of runs in the middle overs. Waseem’s super throw resulted in the run-out of Raveesh. Then the opposition managed to build a decent partnership with the help of Ramees, Raveesh, and Saneesh, scoring 34 runs off just 29 balls. In-form batsman Ramees got out in an LBW with a beautiful delivery by Nouman. Then the 7th wicket partnership of Prashanth and Saneesh took the match to a thrilling one. That partnership was significant, adding 55 runs off 34 balls.At last, the opposition required 17 runs in the last-over. The first ball went to six played by Saneesh, which made the opposition regain their confidence. Then, after taking a quick single in the next ball, Prashanth connected a good one to hit a huge six on the third ball.
Then the scenario was straightforward for the opposition to score just three runs off two balls. Waseem bowled a good ball to dismiss Saneesh on the long-on. It was a superb catch taken by Nauman in the boundary line. Then the equation became three runs off one ball. The opposition only managed to score one run on the last ball.
In the end, we managed to restrict the opponent below the target, winning the match by one run.
