Kappa Biriyani (Tapioca & Meat) in 30 Minutes

This is a popular item in Street food shops (Thattukadas) in Kerala. In some places of Kerala this kappa & beef mixture is also known as Asiad (ഏഷ്യാഡ്).
Kappa biriyani aka “ellum kappayum” is a mix of Kappa (tapioca) and beef (with bones).

You can prepare this in less than 30 minutes.
Better to use beef ribs for the preparation

Ingredients
Tapioca/cassava/yuca root(കപ്പ ) – 1kg
Turmeric powder(manjalpodi)-1 tsp
Oil-1 tsp
Salt(ഉപ്പ് )-as required

For cooking beef
Beef-1 kg
Turmeric powder(പൌഡർ(മഞ്ഞൾ പൊടി )-1tsp
Chilli powder(പൌഡർ(മുളക് പൊടി )-1 spoon
Coriander powder(മല്ലിപ്പൊടി )-1 spoon
Fennel seeds powder(പെരുൺജീരകപ്പൊടി )- 1 spoon
Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
Pepper powder(പൌഡർ(കുരുമുളക് പൊടി )- 1 tsp
Salt-as required
Vinegar(വിനാഗിരി)- 1 spoon

For making masala
Coconut oil
Sliced onion(നീളത്തിലരിഞ്ഞ സവാള )- two medium
Crushed ginger(ചതച്ച ഇഞ്ചി )- small piece
Garlic(വെളുത്തുള്ളി )- 4-5 big cloves
Shallot(ഉള്ളി )- 4-5 crushed
Curry leaves
Dried chilli(വറ്റൽ mulaku)
Tomato(തക്കാളി )- 1 medium
Egg- 1 or 2
coriander powder- 1 tsp
chilli powder- if required
garam masala – 1 tsp
Salt-

For seasoning
Coconut oil
Green chilli-
Dried chilli
Curry leaves
Ginger- small piece Julian cut(നീളത്തിലരിഞ്ഞത് )
Sliced/ chopped onion or shallot- few slices

For garnishing
Chopped coriander leaves
Sliced or chopped onion- few
