Gestures are one of the most undervalued milestones of communication and language development. Several studies have shown that gestures are highly related to language in early development (Watson & Barneck 2009). Babies/Toddlers/Children learn to use gestures before they start talking. This word-gesture combination is what leads to multi-word speech in kids.

Typically, it starts between the ages of 9-12 months. Parents shouldn’t fail to notice this important milestone.

Give importance to GESTURES milestone of your child Let’s change the world one word at a time!
